ABOUT THE TŪHONO RESEARCH SERVICE

The Tuhono Research Service

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou i roto i ngā tini āhuatanga o te wā.

The Tūhono Research Service has developed a professionally managed nationwide online service representing the Maori adult population at the 2013 census. This new and unique initiative was officially launched on Monday 19 May 2014 to provide Māori with a voice to tell their stories.

We want the value and future of Māori research to contribute to what is important to every one of us as Māori.

We hope that you take this opportunity to join together and give voice to those things that really matter, for you and your whānau.

Ko te tūmanako kei te ora rawa atu koutou katoa.

Ko tō tātau waka, ko te rangimārie, ko ngā hoe ō runga, ko te aroha.

Tuhono Trust - Governing Body

The Tūhono Research Service is governed by the Tūhono Trustees from the 9 regions (Taitokerau, Tainui, Mataatua, Te Arawa, Porourangi, Takitimu, Hauauru, Te Moana o Raukawa and Te Waipounamu/Rekohu) which consist of 120 Iwi Organisations throughout the country.

Te Pae Tawhiti - Our Philosophy

Our philosophy for the Tuhono Research Service is driven by “Te Pae Tawhiti” which are the 12 statements developed by the Trust in 2004 in what they believed were the collective aspirations of Maori. The tikanga we adhere to here is identifying the collective aspirations of Maori, and providing people/whanau with a place to share these. The topics covered in each survey will be guided by your responses to the previous ones.
