PROMOTING YOUR VOICE

Getting your Voice Heard!

It's important for us to make sure we make every effort to get your voice heard. If you've taken the time to tell us what you think, then we make the time to tell the decision makers and our communities what you think.

Tuhono are constantly seeking new avenues to have your voice heard: at iwi hui and forums, whanau gathers, the Maori media, as well as promiting your voice across the social media networks.

Tuhono work hard to have your voice heard at whanau, marae and iwi hui, forums and meetings. We believe that by telling your story about what is important to you and your whanau should be at the forefront of the minds of our communities. Keeping our community groups intouch with what you have to say!

Promoted through the following channels:

  • 2014/2015: Online Sponsor of Whanau Reunions

  • 30 May 2014: Iwi Chairs Forum, Te Kuiti

Maori Media

The media plays a huge role in influencing the perceptions of our communities.  The Maori media need to be able to access robust and reliable information about our your collective views, interests and aspirations for ourselves, our whanau and our country. The results of each survey are promoted through the extensive Maori media network. Our media needs to advocate what you want to say!

Online and Social Network

Social networking such as facebook and twitter, as well as access rates to mobile devices is increasing at an exponential rate for our people. From the 2013 Census, 77% of New Zealanders have access to the internet, and 84% of New Zealalnders have access to a mobile phone. These increasing rates provide Maori with a great opportunity to get their voice heard on the social netowrking 'kumara vine' and the internet airwaves. We need to use every opportunity to promote your voice!

We invite you to add a question to the Tuhono survey. Please take the time to consider your question well (rather than outlining the problem, try and find a question you think will contribute to the solution). Simply complete the form below and we will definately consider it! Go ahead, take a chance.
